Faversham
Shipwright
Arms
Derek is invited to the Shipwright Arms a local
pub supposedly haunted. While sitting in the bar
Derek picks up the spirit of the captain of a
Dutch ship. Joined by his crew and employees of
the pub they all agree with Derek that the strong
smell of tar and tobacco in very evident. Derek
gets the captains name is Fredrick Simms and he
made his way to pub, resentful that his ship had
sunk yet he had survived. Camera evidence confirms
the movement of two lamps hanging from the ceiling,
and a book seems to have moved on the adjacent
bookshelf.
A critic would ask: Were these moved by drafts
and was the smell purely suggestive prompts ?
A
Dolls House Shop
Here Derek joins the owners, who are part of a
local spiritualist circle, who have felt the prescence
of a young girl.
Derek senses the spirit of a male who suffered
from a heart attack, he also senses a hammer and
bands.
He then picks up the spirit of the young girl,
Janet one of the owners senses she is sad at being
confined by her family.
Doorstep
Divination
While driving through the streets Dereks is pulled
to a building that looks like a pub converted
into a house. Being sceptically welcomed by the
owner Derek sits to do a reading.
He senses a redirection in business by the owner
and a strong link to a 'Peter' who will bring
unbelievable news in the next few days.
He feels a woman who passed away suffering from
weight loss very close to the owner.
He also sees the owner has had to rearrange the
education of his son.
Lastly he sees problems with the plumbing which
he suspects has mistified the owner and states
the source in the lower part of the building near
a framework.
The
owner admits that all of these details are indeed
factual.
Via
Mystica
On visiting this shop Derek feels a vortex in
the back room and sees wooden tables and stools
he suggests may be an inn. It is confirmed the
site was once a large banqueting hall.
He also senses the spirit of a lady whos life
was horribly, being bled and dismembered.
Faversham
Brewery
Joined by Mark, an employee of the brewery, Derek
senses a group of Benedictine Monks. This was
indeed the site of an old Abbey.
On going further into the brewery Derek finds
the soul of a man he feels was engulfed in a solid
substance. He indentifys him as Edward Stimpson,
a 26 year old man who died by falling into a vat
of grain. He is possessed by the spirit of Edward
and relives his death.
Local
historian, Arthur Percival and parapsychologist
Dr Simon Sherwood are at hand to assess and confirm
his findings
Shrewsbury

Filming
took place at the Parade Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury,
when doors started slamming and items on the shelves
started to move!
The
Parade was developed when the Royal Shrewsbury
Infirmary (built in 1830) was closed and converted
into 30 independent shops. It is suggested that
the Ghost is that of a former Matron who still
insists on doors being closed, and that everything
has its place - even if the shop owners have a
different view.
Customers
have been known to arrive and then have the shop
door closed on them before they can enter - hardly
the Shropshire welcome they were expecting.
The
spirit of the Parade's roaming matron was picked
up on by Derek Acorah, along with a witches den
and the presence of a 'bad man' in nearby Pengwern
Books.
Stafford
Derek
Acorah and the team arrive in Stafford to stories
of hauntings in four main venues including a music
venue, The Surgery, The Gatehouse Theatre, a museum
– The Ancient High House and The Stafford
Arms public house. Each location pulls it punches,
literally in the museum as Derek discovers a vortex
and is punched in the stomach by a spirit. Then
it's Danniella's turn for some spiritual abuse
as Derek channels a spirit that calls her a “slag”
and makes her cry. In the pub Derek also becomes
trapped in a trance by a somewhat evil spirit,
causing concern for the team. Derek also relays
astonishing information of a man's deceased nephew
in an enlightening doorstop divination.
Blackpool
Blackpool
is the most popular seaside resort in Britain
. But, lurking beneath the shadows of the famous
Blackpool Tower are tales of unrequited love,
suicide and violence. The four locations mentioned
numerous times by the locals include the Grand
Theatre, a local nightclub, a notoriously haunted
B&B and the eerie illuminations depot near
the tower.
Derek
is overcome in his first part of the investigation
at the Grand Theatre where there have been reported
sightings of four separate ghosts. Mysterious
noises on the bridge above the stage and a new
chill in the air precede Derek channelling an
old owner of the theatre, who also takes a bit
of a shine to Danniella as she guides him through
the theatre. Two Theatre employees accompanied
the team and afterwards one claimed that “all
the hairs on the back of my neck were on end.”
Next
stop was The Dorric Bed & Breakfast that made
Angus Purden very uncomfortable in particular,
when he heard a ghostly snoring, making him leave
the investigation altogether.
Ely
The
team delves into history as they visit Oliver
Cromwell's house where Derek appears to pick up
on the vibes of the house and channels the spirit
of Oliver himself, a Sue Rider care shop, The
Minister Tavern and a private Ely residence. In
an amusing turn, one of the contributors of the
show lightly channels the spirit of a giggly old
lady, much to the amusement of the team.
OSWESTRY
The
crew visited Oswestry back in November with their
“Ghost truck”. With the help of Sue
Ellis of Oswestry Borderland Tourism they located
4 spooky locations in and around the town.
These included
Owestry Visitor Centre, Rednal Aerodrome, the
Ex-Servicemen’s Club (Bailey street) and
a private new house in Oswestry.
Sue was then asked
to do as much historical research as she could
to find out about the history of these locations.
Derek Acorah then paid each location a visit to
see what he could detect as a spiritual medium.
‘I was not
allowed to meet Derek’ explains Sue ‘
Just in case I gave him any clue’s!”.
However I did remain in the background whilst
they filmed at the Visitor Centre to hear what
happened.
Here Carol Roberts
went around with Derek and TV co-presenter Angus
Purden. It was a very cold night and the atmosphere
was tingling with expectation. Derek picked up
on some amazing stuff – like a murder of
a young girl back in 1633 and even the name of
her murderer – William Tennent! Carol was
a real star and remained extremely calm.
However the most
convincing supernatural happening occurred off
camera while they were filming down the cellar
at the centre – we spotted 2 white mist
orbs in the TIC – they seemed to hover at
about 12 inches from the floor.
Derek who was
down in the cellar asked for a sign! At least
3 of us saw these orbs also. By the time that
the camera and Derek got back into the room the
orbs had gone and we were not allowed to tell
Derek what we had seen. However he did say that
he felt that a spirit had just left that room!!
Sue and Carol were left wondering if it had all
been in their imagination and were not sure if
they had been convinced or not.
The crew then
went on to film at an extremely cold Rednal aerodrome
where Derek started to speak a foreign language!
Canterbury
Derek
channels the malevolent spirit of a knight, who
had raped and murdered a young girl, in Conquest
House. Other locations include The Marlowe Theatre,
Timpson and Ellerslie YHA, where Danniella hears
a distinct banging sound coming from the downstairs
kitchen.
Lowestoft
The team ventures onto Claremont
Pier, The Crown Hotel and also East Cottage where
Derek detects the practice the witchcraft and
child sacrifice in years gone by, and channels
an evil spirit. A ritual cleansing has to be performed
on the house to calm the atmosphere.
Salisbury
21 st Century Antiques sees much
table tipping and movement, as they commune with
the spirits of two restless brothers. Derek relays
to the team that he feels it is one of his best
investigations ever undertaken. Other locations
include the Cross Keys restaurant and Alchemy
at The Chough.
Hull
Derek
and his team are in Hull where they visit several
venues including the Ye Olde White Heart pub.
Lincoln
Derek’s
trip to Lincoln includes a visit to Coleby Airfield
and the Lion and Snake pub.
Swansea
Derek
and the team head to Swansea, where they encounter
a haunted private home, a tattoo shop where the
customers have more than the needles to be frightened
of, and a local heritage center where Mylenne
has a frightening experience with a shape shifter.
Chester
Derek, Rhodri and Mylenne come
across mysterious sounds in a Roman museum, a
public house with spirits either side of the bar,
and a hairdressing salon where, for one of the
team, a frightening experience makes it a night
they will never forget!
Stirling
The
team head to Stirling, Scotland to delve into
the ghostly tales the residents can produce. This
episode contains a woman whose life is being ruined
by a spirit in her house, a coffee shop where
workers refuse to go into certain areas, and a
public house where paranormal activity is ripe
in the basement.
Worchester
The
team visit Worcester, where it's a night of channeling
for Derek. A haunted pottery museum, a hair salon
with a sinister secret and a pen shop plagued
by the spirits of murdering Satanists await the
team as they continue their hunt for paranormal
activity
Dorchester
The
landlady at the George
pub is reduced to tears by her encounter with
a mysterious entity.
Guildford
In
a Guildford pub, the team uncover evidence of
Ouija board activity.
Glasgow
The
team investigate a spooky ship, and Rhodri has
a frightening experience in the Tron theatre.
Greenwich
The
team dig for buried treasure in the garden of
a house in Greenwich.
