Derek
Acorah
Psychic
Medium Most Haunted
Born:
27 January 1950 |
| |
Website |
Derek
Acorah's family discovered his enhanced abilities of clairaudience
at the tender age of six, after Acorah relayed a message
to his Grandmother from his Grandfather, a man who died
five years before Acorah's birth. But Acorah's first passion
as he grew older was soccer. By the age of 13, he was training
with legendary Liverpool manager, Bill Shankly and was signed
as a professional at 15. After he married and fathered two
children, Acorah continued his professional soccer career
in Australia, where he played for four years. A knee injury
cut his career short and homesickness brought Acorah back
to Liverpool, England.
Acorah's enhanced Psi abilities were always with him, therefore
on his return to England in the early 1980s, he became a
professional, full time spirit medium, based at his home
city of Liverpool. Since that time, his amazingly accurate
work as a professional clairvoyant in cases for both the
private sector and police agencies (criminal cases), has
propelled him into more public ventures. In recent years,
Acorah achieved international success with his television,
radio and personal appearances across Europe, the Middle
East and the U.S. By invitation in October 1997, Acorah
participated in a Middle East tour that took him to Dubai,
Abu Dhabi and the desert location of Al Ain. His time is
sought after by celebrities on different continents. He
has undertaken phone consultations for those in need as
far away from Liverpool as India, Australia, New Zealand
and the United States. Acorah became a member of the ISPR
in December 1998.
Acorah's groundbreaking work on the two television series,
Predictions with Derek Acorah and Psychic Livetime, won
him the British equivalent of the American Daytime Emmy
Award. His first book The Psychic World of Derek Acorah,
entered its 4th printing within 3 months of its initial
September 1999 release. In March 1999, Acorah participated
in the ISPR field investigations featured in the two award
winning documentaries, ISPR Investigates Ghosts of England
(Telly Award - 1999) and ISPR Investigates Ghosts of Belgrave
Hall (Best Horror Documentary Award - 2002 Screamfest L.A.
Film Festival / Hollywood). Both documentaries are distributed
around the world in several languages and are utilized as
a teaching tool in universities like UCLA and USC.
During the filming of ISPR Investigates Ghosts of England,
the entire ISPR team was moved at the plight of Mr. Nicholas
Geary, a recently bereaved Liverpool man. The team was even
more moved when teammate Acorah decided to conduct a live
stage performance with all proceeds going to Mr. Geary.
The May 9, 1999 event was a resounding success.
In July 2001, Acorah shot the pilot of Most Haunted (LivingTV)
- and now stars on this number one smash European hit.
Acorah resides with his wife Gwen, a German Shepherd and
four cats.
Derek's
last appearance on Most Haunted was the Live production
from East London for Halloween 2005. He started his new
series Ghost Towns in November 2005 on Living TV.

Richard
Felix
Historian |
| |
Website |
Richard
was born in Derby and educated at Stanley College. He spent
nine years in the Territorial Army, commissioned into the
third battalion of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters.
In 1965 he joined the family business selling pop records
in the local market, until in 1988 after a trip to York,
Richard decided to sell Derby instead. After six months
he was the chairman of Derby and Derbyshire Tourism Association,
where he remained for three years.
For the past twelve years Derby based local historian Richard
Felix has been proprietor of the Derby Heritage Centre.
His investigations into Derby’s local history, lead
him to discover a multitude of haunted houses and ghostly
apparitions haunting Derby, from child caring spectres to
screaming Viking skulls. As such he has proclaimed Derby
to be the ‘Dead Centre’ of Britain, and created
a now world-renowned ghost tour of the city. This tour has
attracted thousands of visitors to the city, and has scared
its fair share of locals, the highlight of the tour being
in the old Derby Gaol recently purchased by Felix.
Having realised the vast interest the public has in ghostly
goings on; Felix began to look further a field, to the ghosts
of other counties and cities. Seeing that Derby was not
on it’s own in terms of hauntings, he has established
the Nationwide Ghost Hunting Tour of Britain.
This has resulted in a series of videos in conjunction with
Past in Pictures, which are exclusive to each area. From
the North East to the South West, Felix is travelling the
country filming his own experiences at haunted sites and
interviewing those local to the areas that have witnessed
ghostly occurrences.
On several occasions these films have been featured on both
cable tv and the BBC, and are currently a part of a ‘Most
Haunted’ series on Sky. The Ghost Hunting Tour is
still going with many areas still not covered, and Felix
is constantly looking for your help with his research, either
by mailing him photos or stories, which hint toward the
supernatural, which he can investigate for use in further
videos.
Richard
left Most Haunted at the end of series 8. He held a web
chat and left this message
"Apologies
for the web chat crashing this evening, we've never had
such a response, I should get sacked every week! Just so
you all know its official, last week I was told that Living
TV no longer require a historian on Most Haunted. Can I
just thank everyone for their kind words of support that
I have received over the last few days, I am absolutely
overwhelmed. I would also like to thank Karl and Yvette
for giving me the exposure which has resulted in all of
you out there. I would also like to congratulate them on
creating the best ghost programme in the world, to date!
See you all very soon, don't go away cus I'll be back! xxx" |

Ciarán
O'Keeffe
Parapsychologist |
| |
Website |
Ciarán’s
diverse background begins in the US, where, in 1994, he graduated
with a Liberal Arts degree at Washington College, majoring
in Music & Psychology. There he completed an honors thesis
on paranormal experiences in conjunction with a representative
from the Institute of Parapsychology (now Rhine Research Center).
Following several years
of nursing experience, an occasional foray into spontaneous
cases, and a brief stint in Spain, he returned to academia,
in 1997, with an MSc. Investigative Psychology at Liverpool
University. Whilst there, independent research encompassed
the geo-spatial behaviour of serial killers, hypnotism and
the legal system, mental maps of computer criminals, and
various aspects of the psychology of fraud: self-perception
and social identity; risk-taking and decision making; situational
factors and probability bias. The Master’s dissertation
examined the utility of psychic detectives and the style
of their narratives.
In the past few years Ciarán
has been researching a Doctorate entitled ‘Assessing
the content of advice given by practitioners claiming paranormal
ability,’ (focusing on psychics and mediums) at the
University of Hertfordshire. The PhD is supervised by Professor
Richard Wiseman and Professor Julia Buckroyd.
Professor Wiseman, primary
supervisor, has provided advice on the assessment of claimants;
Professor Buckroyd has offered input on how such interactions
relate to the dyadic interaction of counselling scenarios.
During his time at University
of Hertfordshire, Ciarán was fortunate enough to
be involved in several Perrott-Warrick Research Unit projects
(e.g. ‘ghost’ projects at Hampton Court and
Edinburgh), also taking time off for other spontaneous cases
and unusual assignments (including a dream project, and
exorcism research), and returning to the Rhine Research
Center for their Summer Study Program in 2000.
Currently,
he is employed as a psychology lecturer at Liverpool Hope
University College, assisting with both criminal psychology
and parapsychology teaching. In addition Ciarán can
be seen appearing on paranormal TV shows such as Living
TV’s Most Haunted and Jane Goldman Investigates where
he regularly battles with all manner of mediumistic communication.

was born in a village north of the Border’ stuff and
was brought up in a small Scottish village, where his mother
worked in a knitwear factory and my father was a coal miner.
Hejoined the Royal Navy
aged 16, left when hr was 24 and began a career in catering
within hotels and leisure clubs.
In 1991 he decided to go back to college as a mature student
to study leisure as a career, funded by working 40 hours
a week as a chef and a waiter in a small hostel in the south
of England.
Whilst on a Christmas Holiday
in Scotland in 1992 he found hisself in hospital, unconscious
suffering from pneumonia. On the second night in hospital
he found myself in the corridor being told to go back to
bed by an old lady – he did as she asked only to find
he was already there! Thinking nothing more than he had
been dreaming he forgot the incident and was released a
few days later when improvements to his health were great
enough.
He returned to England and
was convalescing when he started to experience odd happenings
in my home, so odd that he found it impossible to sleep.
A friend suggested that he visited a woman who ‘knew
about these things’ and he duly did. This remarkable woman was
to be his teacher, mentor and friend through an extraordinary
journey that was to unfold over the next ten years.

Smith
Psychic
Medium |

| Gordon
Smith is an astoundingly accurate medium, renowned for his
ability to give exact names of people, places and even streets
during readings. His outstanding abilities as a medium or
messenger from the spirit world have brought comfort and
healing to thousands of people
worldwide. Even as one of the UK’s most prestigious
mediums he still works as a hairstylist at his salon in
Glasgow where he keeps his feet firmly on the ground, giving
him his famous nickname The Psychic Barber.
The groundbreaking Everyman documentary Mediums: Talking
To The Dead which aired in September2004, left critics speechless
and provided unparalleled insight and groundbreaking objective
reportage ofGordon’s abilities as a Medium. Following
Gordon around the world, the programme documented hisastonishing
debut appearance in the trans-atlantic psychic circles of
San Fransisco and witnessed the heart-warming and unexplainably
accurate personal messages he gave to grieving parents in
London
during one of the free one-to-one readings for which he
has become so highly sought.
Even amidst the scepticism that surrounds mediumship, Gordon
has dispelled any doubters with his unrivalled ability to
deliver proof of life beyond death. He acknowledges how
imagination, grief and distress can affect people’s
perceptions and how charlatans and frauds have added to
the confusion.
Working with Professor Archie Roy, Emeritus Professor of
Astronomy at Glasgow University and Tricia Robertson of
the Scottish Society for Psychical Research, Gordon has
significantly contributed to the development of a scientific
approach to studying the evidence given by mediums to their
recipients.
'I have allowed my mediumship to be subject to experiments
in the hope that knowledge will grow from them. I have assisted
the true seekers in tests, blind tests and double blind
tests. It matters not to me whether people believe that
what I do is genuine. All I can say is that I try my best.'
Over the years his experiences and research have led him
to know the reality of the unseen world and have
inspired him with the passion to reveal the unbelievable
truth.

Matthew
Smith is a British parapsychologist, who in 2005 teaches
at Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool, England. He is
a Council Member of the Society for Psychical Research and
is best known to the public for his work on LivingTV's popular
ghosthunting programme Most Haunted. His previous research
includes work on the psychology of luck and the psychology
of deception, both with Richard Wiseman, and as of Summer
2005 he is involved in ganzfeld ESP research in the field
of parapsychology.
Whilst
his views remain logical and reflects an opinion that seems
the most plausable in an investigation, not 'everyone' in
the crew will agree.....and even the audience used too 'disagree'
with Mr Smith's opinions in the early Most Haunted Live
shows......but opinions change. I personally find Dr Smith
the most genuine 'crew member' of the whole team - even
if I disagree with his comments! |
