Ghosthunting With The Only Way Is Essex

Posted by admin as Ghost Hunting With, Most Haunted News

Ghosthunting With The Only Way Is Essex will be on ITV2 at 10pm on Wednesday, September 14.

THIS is probably the only time you’ll ever see the TOWIE cast without their trademark orange tans.

The Essex girls and boys swapped the Sugar Hut for a haunted house, as they endured a seriously scary night of paranormal activity, hunting for ghosts and ghoulies.

All the regulars were there and captured on the show’s night vision cameras — including Mark Wright and his former fiancée Lauren Goodger, Sam Faiers, Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge.

Joey Essex described the supernatural show as “the scariest experience ever”. But we think anyone who’s ever been vajazzled by Amy would beg to differ…

A New Future For Most Haunted ?

Posted by admin as Most Haunted News

Living TV has finally released the rights to Most Haunted back to Karl Beattie and Antix Productions. This means Karl could now take the show to another TV station.

The statement from Living TV said: “We have decided not to recommission Most Haunted and will be giving Antix Productions the right to take it to another channel if they wish,” Sky Living said. “We would like to thank Yvette Fielding and Karl Beattie for all of their hard work and commitment over the years.”

The statement continued: “Like every commercial TV channel, Sky Living is constantly developing new ideas. We recognise our customers’ appetite for paranormal programming and have recently aired a series about popular psychic Sally Morgan and original scripted drama Bedlam, which proved to be the channel’s most successful commissioned series in its history.

“As well as paranormal, the channel will build on other successful genres, from scripted comedy to real-life relationships, which we know our customers also enjoy.”

The news was posted on Karl Beattie’s Facebook and in the Sun Newspaper.

Karl Beattie posted on his Facebook on 12th August 2011

Hi Guys Just wanted to give you the official news. SkyLiving has decided not to re-commission MH which is sad news, however, we have been given our rights back, so we can go to other broadcasters with it. I think that a new home and better investigation techniques will move MH into the next phase making it bigger and better than ever. We are very excited about MH’s future, so onwards and upwards my paranormal friends. xx

The Sun 13th August

GHOST-busting show Most Haunted has been axed by Sky Living – a year after Yvette Fielding quit.

The channel will return the programme rights to production company Antix, run by Yvette, 42, and husband Karl Beattie.

A spokesman said Sky Living will focus on other paranormal TV, including psychic Sally Morgan’s show and drama Bedlam.

On 27th October 2011, Karl Beattie announced via his Facebook profile;

“Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to get a programme sorted for halloween, getting all the rights back took much longer than first thought. But we are back now, next year we will be looking to go bigger and better than ever before and we will take halloween back.

We are about to sign a very exciting deal with a very large company to take Most Haunted to the next level. So watch this space. And thanks for all of your support and undying loyalty, which in this industry is a very rare thing indeed, thank you all it means so much.”

Caesars Nightclub Streatham Hill London : A Tribute 1929 – 2010

Posted by admin as Most Haunted News

It seemed fitting to pay a tribute to Caesers Night Club Streatham Hill London here on Tribute To Most Haunted as it had featured in Most Haunted Series 2 in search of the ghost of Ruth Ellis and of course was owned by demonologist Fred Batt. Reports of dark shapes which move across the room, a ghost of a woman, hearing footsteps and doors opening on their own.

Caesars started life as the first purpose built Ballroom in England opening in 1928 as The Locarno Ballroom.

Many stars appeared here in those days including: Glenn Miller – Laurel & Hardy – Charlie Chaplin  and a host of others. In the sixties bands such as:  The Rolling Stones – The Small Faces – Rod Stewart Ect.

Miss World and Come Dancing (now Strictly) started there

The Last Owner Fred Batt held the First Pro Female Boxing at Caesars and introduced Cage Fighting to Caesars

When the doors closed in 2010 an article in the Local Guardian advertised the auction of the chariot and horse that once adorned the entrance.

For sale: one Roman chariot, four horses, featured in a Spice Girls video – price on application. Preferred buyer local to area.

Love it or hate it, the giant statue rising over Streatham High Road from Caesars nightclub is one of the defining images for those passing through Streatham.

And a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has arisen to purchase it, as club owner Fred Batt strips the club of its contents, ahead of it being passed over to developers in three weeks.

Mr Batt said: “If no one buys the statue it will have to go in my back garden, but I’m hoping someone locally will buy it, to keep it in Streatham as part of the club’s history.”

To give a little inspiration to potential buyers, the Streatham Guardian has taken the time to imagine what it could be like displayed on another local landmark –Streatham Ice Arena.

But for those who are not interested in the chariot and horses, Mr Batt is also selling the rest of the club’s contents, with everything from a stuffed Siberian tiger to tables and chairs going under the hammer.

Mr Batt said: “It’s sad to finally be going, it’s the end of an era.”

Developers have bought the club and have permission to knock it down to build a 243-flat residential and shopping development.

The club was built in the 1920s as the UK’s first purpose-built ballroom.

It was one of the premiere south London nightspots of the time, with Glenn Miller, Audrey Hepburn and Charlie Chaplin among the top names to grace its stage.

It later became the Cat’s Whiskers club, with a revolving stage.

Mr Batt took it over in 1994, it then became home to events by Lap Attack – London’s first lap dancing club for women – and a boxing venue, where Brad Pitt was filmed in Guy Ritchie’s movie Snatch.

Mr Batt blamed the loosening of licensing laws on the failure of the club, as drinkers could stay in bars rather than move on to clubs.

Paranormal Investigator Workshop At Langley Priory With Phil Whyman

Posted by admin as Most Haunted News

Phil Whyman

PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR WORKSHOP (Sat 12th March 2011) With Most haunted’s PHIL WHYMAN at  LANGLEY PRIORY Leicestershire

Ever wanted to conduct your own paranormal investigations?

Then make sure you get off to the best possible start and join respected paranormal investigator, author and columnist PHIL WHYMAN on an investigator workshop. With over 24 years experience investigating the paranormal, Phil Whyman will show you the right way to do just about everything as far
as investigating the paranormal is concerned.

***Strictly Limited Places***

Join TV’s ‘Most Haunted’ paranormal expert, author, columnist and Dead Haunted company director PHIL WHYMAN on the first date of his Paranormal Investigator Workshop, taking place at Dead Haunted’s EXCLUSIVE venue LANGLEY PRIORY in Leicestershire.

The Workshop
Investigating the paranormal, hauntings and ghosts has never been more popular than it is at the moment, but did you know there is essentially a right and wrong way to do it?
During this intense, practical workshop Phil Whyman will guide you through the same techniques and methods he has employed on countless paranormal investigations over the years that he has been investigating, calling on the vast experience and knowledge he has collected during this time. Learn things such as how to approach locations regarding permission to investigate them; how to use equipment and theories for their usage (including the Ouija board); taking a look at famous paranormal cases; avoiding common problems encountered on an investigation and more…

Topics covered will include:
Approaching potential investigation locations
Witness interviews & questions.
Investigation equipment usage & theories.
Conducting a safe paranormal investigation.
Exploring investigation experiments.
Documenting your investigations.
Common investigation pitfalls.
DO’s & DONT’s of investigating.
Analysis of famous paranormal cases.

Two workshop options
There will be two slightly different workshop options available to anyone wanting to attend:

Option One: WORKSHOP ONLY
Option one will be just the workshop sessions only.

Option Two: WORKSHOP & INVESTIGATION
Option two will consist of the workshop followed by an investigation, to put into practice methods and theories that you will have learned from the workshop itself. Use of investigation equipment will be provided, as well as notepads & pens to document your own findings.

The Venue: LANGLEY PRIORY, Leicestershire
Founded by William Pantulf in AD 1154, Langley Priory – which was of the Benedictine order – remained an important part of the local area, until Henry VIII’s Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1536.
As with so many buildings of this type during the Dissolution, the original structure that was Langley Priory was torn down. The two wings of the present house were built in 1570 by re-using the Norman stone from the ruined Castle at Donington, itself said to be a very haunted location. Further building work saw the middle section linking the two wings being built in 1690, with a Victorian annexe being added to the North Wing in 1888.

There is no doubting that Langley Priory is a beautiful building, and was described in the 1840’s as “one of the finest manorial type houses in Leicestershire”. The house is home to a fine collection of sixteenth century tapestries and some beautiful medieval stained glass.

Langley Priory is a Grade II* listed building, and remains a private family home.

The Investigation
Langley Priory has many paranormal secrets to uncover, and during a recent Dead Haunted investigation did not let us down.
The Buried Man
Langley Priory has seen many deaths over the years, and indeed there are countless bodies buried just beyond its welcoming doors; many of them would have been nuns who very often lived their whole lives here.
During recent works outside in the grounds the body of a male was accidentally excavated. He was reburied in the garden, and you can see his marker to this day.
Nobody is sure who this is, but has disturbing him from his slumber caused any paranormal activity? We’ll find out during our visit.
The Ancient Disused Wing
One particularly spooky and chilling area of Langley Priory is an ancient and disused wing, which we will have access too during our investigation; it is very much in the same condition as it was hundreds of years ago…who knows what or who still resides within its walls?

The Attic
Lurking within the upper recesses of Langley Priory are the attic rooms. These rooms alone are enough to send a shiver down the spine, and that is during the daytime. At night and in the darkness what strange and mysterious things will come out to play?
The Cellar
During our events we have seen many cellars. They are often a hive of paranormal activity, and often that activity can be frightening (Peterborough Museum springs to mind here!)…and Langley Priory has one too. This is one area we are all looking forward to conducting our vigils and experiments.
Other Reported Incidents
Light anomalies
Cold spots.
Feelings of being watched.
Your Workshop Will Consist Of:
A practical workshop session with Phil Whyman, covering all aspects of the modern day paranormal investigation including the methods and techniques used by Phil himself.
A paranormal investigation of Langley Priory after the workshop ends, including use of paranormal investigation equipment.
Notepads & pens for documenting your own experiences.
Certificate of Attendance signed by Phil Whyman on completion of the workshop / investigation.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the workshop / investigation.
