| The
Ghost Tour of Great Britain - Nottinghamshire |
|
The
county of Nottinghamshire is a ghost-hunter’s paradise, a
place ripe with legends of goblins, witches and boggarts. The vast
history of the country provides the perfect backdrop for mythology
to thrive – and it has.
So settle back, and let us take you on a ghostly tour of Nottinghamshire...
This fascinating book by Richard Felix, star of the popular Most
Haunted TV programme, offers true-life, haunting accounts of eerie
visitations and paranormal experiences along with artistically shot
black-and-white photographs of
haunted sites. The personal, first hand reports and chilling, full-length
stories are bolstered by sidebars of actual accounts of real ghosts.
Each chapter explores mysterious events events that the reader will
find hard to pass off as
mere coincidence. In this quest to uncover explanations for each
incident, Richard has researched library archives and interviewed
credible witnesses, historians, renowned psychics, and parapsychologists.
Throughout it all his
findings are mesmerising.
Spooky sites and stories include Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem (one
of the oldest pubs in England), Bestwood Lodge, Newstead Abbey and
The Duke of Wellington pub in Kirkby in Ashfield. There are many
spooky tales to be
found Newark, such as St Mary Magdelene Church, The Old Bakery and
Tea Rooms and The White Hart Inn. The Rotunda Pub in Nottingham

Inn in the Market
Square, among many others.

They’re
back! LIVINGtv invites you to join Yvette Fielding, David Wells
and the Most Haunted team for a long-awaited three night ghost-hunt
LIVE from Portsmouth, Hampshire.
This well seasoned team of paranormal investigators have travelled
across the British Isles and beyond over seven thrilling series
and a massive 19 LIVE investigations.
Now they’re on their way to Portsmouth, a place with a rich
naval history and rife with intriguing tales of the supernatural.
The town is packed with haunted hot spots which include the HMS
Victory. Docked in Portsmouth Harbour, this impressive vessel is
the world’s oldest commissioned warship and is best known
for her role in the Battle of Trafalgar, but rumours also abound
that some of her former occupants still haunt her decks. Then there’s
Wymering Manor, long considered the county’s most haunted
house and which is also thought to be home to the ghost of Jane
Austen’s brother. Portsmouth town is also littered with haunted
hotels, one of which, The Keppel’s Head, is said to be haunted
by Buster Crabb, a diver who mysteriously disappeared in the 1950s.
Where will they investigate? You’ll have to tune in to find
out.

Acorah Does Dr Who |
|
In
an interview with the Manchester Evening News, the silver-haired,
spook-hunting blingmeister Derek Acorah revealed:
"I've just filmed Doctor Who. It's a bit of a mickey-take.
The Doctor finds that spirits and ghosts have invaded the whole
of the galaxy, so he gets me along to see what we can do about it.
It's only a small part, but there's a bit of fun to it. I'm there
saying, 'I might as well go now, they're all out there and I can't
do anything about them. I'm redundant!'"

books for Hodder Headline |

books.

|
| Was
That A Ghost ?
|
|
A
ghostly 'bible' for both believers and sceptics.
Yvette Fielding and Dr. Ciarán O'Keeffe (from Living TV's smash
hit series, Most Haunted) have joined together in writing this gripping
and informative book that guides the reader through the paranormal
world. It goes back to the beginning of the first séances and
reported apparitions through to their own investigations carried out
in haunted locations exclusively for this book. Ciarán and
Yvette have chosen 5 cases, never examined before, and endeavour to
spend time in these exclusive haunted locations. These case files
take the reader from an impartial observer to first-hand participant.
With the increase in the number of amateur groups investigating alleged
haunted locations, with the prevalence of paranormal television shows
whose focus is on capturing the elusive apparition, a discussion of
what constitutes the evidence is necessary, and compelling. The benefit
of an open discussion from two different viewpoints is obvious. Ciarán
and Yvette, two authors who have trodden their paths of curiosity
about the questions, here discuss the answers they have discovered...
Yvette and Ciarán urge that 'those of a nervous disposition
should NOT read this after dark'!

Haunted Cleared Of Fraud |
|
Ghost
show Most Haunted has been cleared of fraud by TV watchdog Ofcom,
following complaints of deception.
Viewers complained that the Living TV show, featuring "psychic"
Derek Acorah, deceived the public by claiming to find evidence of
paranormal activity.
But Ofcom ruled that Most Haunted
was an entertainment show, not a legitimate investigation into the
paranormal, and should not be taken seriously.
Most Haunted, presented by Yvette
Fielding, is now in its sixth series.
Spin-off show Most Haunted Live
was also investigated, following the complaints.
Ofcom ruled that the TV show contains
"a high degree of showmanship that puts it beyond what we believe
to be a generally accepted understanding of what comprises a legitimate
investigation".
"On balance, we consider that
overall Most Haunted/Most Haunted Live should be taken to be a programme
produced for entertainment purposes.

| Ciarán
O'Keefe Sets The Record Straight |
|
Further
to the article in the Daily Mirror a month ago Ciarán has
come forward on his site to set the record straight. I would suggest
all those who, probably like us, jumped up in arms without thinking
what his responsibilities are and more to the point what the press
is like read this.
We
at Tribute to Most Haunted are great fans of Derek Acorah and Most
Haunted but just like believing in the paranormal you must always
be open to both sides of every issue. Remember the truth is out
there but sometimes it may not be what we want to hear, but as Ciaran
says we must all draw our own conclusions. |
