Lower
Southwood Cottage
In
2003, the owners came downstairs and found the whole of
the first floor in utter disarray. They tidied up and went
back upstairs. When they came down again, they found it
had happened again. But they never heard the furniture being
moved.
Computers have been found on and running, even when they
weren't plugged in.
The cats have been found in locked rooms.
Chairs have been moved out onto the landing.
Knives have been taken out and stuck into the bread board.
The owners believe that there's the ghost of a little girl
present - children's toys often go missing. Some are returned
some never are.
The owner bumped into someone but there was no-one there
and visitors have been 'touched' or 'pinched' by an unknown
force.
Extreme cold spots are felt throughout the building.
There is a Collie that is sometimes seen running with their
2 dogs.
Figures have been seen in the outside mirror.
The Shetland pony was once found in a stable with another
horse - the stable was bolted from the outside, tricky for
a horse to do.
The figure of a girl has been seen sitting in the garden.

Old
Church House Inn, Devon

The building dates from 13th century, but the oldest part
of the building is the fire place which dates back to the
eighth or ninth century.
Paranormal
activity:
Numerous
paranormal experiences have been reported including foot
steps and creaking floor boards heard all over pub, lights
turn on and off, strange sighs are heard, people get touched
on the back of the neck and feel as though someone is blowing
in their ear.
In the family bedroom in the cottage, a man was seen recently
looking down into the baby's crib. The man was over 6' tall
and was very broad. As soon as he was seen, he disappeared
down the stairs. Thinking it was a burglar, the owner chased
it down the stairs, but found nothing - both the doors at
the bottom of the stairs were closed: One leads into the
bathroom that was empty, the other opens inwards, and was
closed firmly. After searching the property, nothing was
found and there were no signs of a forced entry.
One night, the owner woke again to find a lady in a bonnet.
She put a finger on her lips and slowly vanished.
In the main bar, candles relight themselves.
A spotlight in the bar turns itself off at 1430 each afternoon,
then switches itself on by 1500.
One of the workers sat on the bench in front of the 'Armada'
wall polishing brass, when she heard the bench creak next
to her as though some one had just sat on it.The imprint
of two faces has also been seen in the 'Armada' wall, as
though pressed up against the wood. They are believed to
be the captain and first officer of the ship.
In the lounge, a figure has been seen descending a set of
stairs that were taken out years ago.
In Room 1, a guest wrote to the previous owner to describe
what she had seen. She woke at 4am in a hot sweat to see
an arm at the end of the bed pointing towards the wall behind
her. Five minutes later she saw a bald headed man walk past
the bed and disappear. She came up with the name Emmitt/Emitt.
Castle
Keep

The
Castle Keep is one of Newcastle's oldest buildings and is
a great way to learn about the city's history.
Built
on the site of an old Roman fort by the River Tyne, a castle
was founded in 1080 by William the Conqueror's eldest son.
It was this castle that gave Newcastle its name.
The
castle's Keep, restored in the 1800s and again in the 1970s,
houses the museum. The one thing you notice about the three-floor
Keep is the amount of staircases leading to places like
the Gallery, King's Chambers, Queen's Chambers, Great Hall,
dungeon and a late Norman chapel occupying the ground floor.
There are also staircases that lead nowhere.
The
first staircase we tried led us to the roof, a fairly modern
addition to the keep, which provides spectacular views of
the Newcastle skyline as well as its famed bridges.
Elsewhere
in the museum there were Norman gravestones made before
the castle was built, musket balls, cannon balls, the old
city arms and plaques from the medieval Tyne bridge destroyed
in 1771.
Woodchester
Mansion, Gloucestershire

The
exact date for the start of building is uncertain, but by
1858 the clock tower had been completed, and by 1866 the
main building had been roofed
Recorded
paranormal activity:
In the top corridor, People have been poked and pushed,
feel very uneasy up here, tapping is heard and others have
experienced the strong feeling that they are not alone.
On the first floor, and near the Chapel Entrance and Master
Bedroom, there have been sightings of a hooded figure, blue
lights have been seen, a presence is felt, odd rumbling
and tapping sounds are heard as is the sound of falling
masonry is heard when there is none about.
On the stairs, people feel as though they are being pushed
or as if there is an electrical jolt going through them.
Down the office corridor to the bedroom, awoman's voice
has been heard many times in here, often wailing. And visiting
psychics often pick up on the presence of a woman here -
she's anxious and running, possibly something to do with
a baby and from the house before the current one, possibly
18th Century and called Elizabeth.
In the kitchen, a woman, thought to be a former housemaid
is often heard happily singing in here, however, sometimes
her demeanor changes and she can be heard crying and shuffling
is often heard outside in the corridor near here.
In the Great Hall, strange mists have been spotted as has
a misty figure, odd light anomalies and the sound of hammering
on the door has been heard.

Haunted Investigation (Their 2nd
Visit To This Location)
Gordon Smith picks up on a murder. It is interesting he
doesn’t understand the language of what he feels was
a stone mason who was murdered. David Well’s picks
up on the same feelings and senses he may well have been
French. As previously mentioned French voices have been
picked up on EVP.
A
séance is held and when spoken to in French, by Richard
Felix, the table responds with very positive movements.
While investigating Stuart has a stone thrown at him which
is clearly caught on camera, and witnessed by Yvette &
Karl.
Richard
gets tapping responses when asking for any spirit to contact
him in the cellar.
Noises from the rafters heard by Stuart, was this bats or
paranormal activity?
Both
Karl & Stuart hear a noise which can only be described
a deep breath, which is clearly audibly recorded. Bangs
on the stairs, slamming doors and more stones being thrown
continue to scare Karl & Stuart.
Gordon
picks up the name LEE, is this William Leigh who brought
the estate in 1845 ?
Power
failures co-inside, Yvette loose power on both a torch and
a camera.
A
further stone finally finds a target and hits Karl in the
back of the neck.
Ciarán
O'Keeffe later studies the footage to confirm the first
thrown stone could not have been thrown by any of the crew!
Coronation
Street

Granada
Television Studios, Manchester
The
nation's beloved soap, Coronation Street, is set in the
imaginary town of Weatherfield, Manchester. It first aired
on 9 December 1960 and is the longest running TV show in
the UK. But from our experiences at Elstree, we all know
that film and television studios often hide secret stories
of strange things that go bump in the night.
Mains
Hall Poulton Le Flyde

Mains
Hall is reputedly circa 16th century but recent research
has suggested that there has been a manor on this site since
the Medieval times and possibly earlier.
Our
house was also a 'Catholic' house and was owned by the staunchly
catholic family, the Heskeths (linked to the Heskeths of
Rufford Old Hall) who lived (and died) here for more than
300 years.
Cardinal
Allen (having family links with the Heskeths of Maynes -
his sister married a Hesketh) hid here on many occasions
to escape the Protestant authorities, as have many other
priests who were always welcome here. We have reported sightings
of priest-like figures in robes both in the house and in
the grounds... is this the long dead Cardinal back to haunt
his favourite hiding place...?
We
have many ghosts here, some seen regularly by myself and
others. The Hall was once a hotel and restaurant and during
those 15 or so years, countless guests had 'spooky experiences'
within these ancient walls.
We
have sightings of a lady at the top of the grand staircase,
she looks soulfully towards one area of the wall. A local
psychic has said she is looking out for her lover, who appears
to have deserted her.
Whilst
renovating the old Hall just within the last few weeks,
we found, behind new plasterboard, an old original window
in exactly the location she seems to be looking out...!
Cavaliers
are seen regularly in the 'winter snug' (used to be the
old bar of the hotel) and there is a decidedly cold atmosphere
and shapes are seen on the stairs where, history tells us,
local marauders during the Jacobite rebellion, sought food
and shelter here from the lady of the house, whilst her
husband made himself scarce. Local legend speaks of swordfights
on the stairs and one unfortunate lost his life.
Children
feature strongly around the Hall and people often say they
see children or hear them laughing and singing nursery rhymes.
It is believed that these are the children of the Hesketh
family who, sadly lost their lives at a young age, as was
often the case during those ancient times.
There
are local legends of wandering monks in the grounds, as
the hall has possible links with Cockersand Abbey. Some
say lay brothers died of the plague here and are reputedly
buried beneath ancient trees at the back of the house.
