    yeah i’m a Derby lass born n bred but i like where i live now in Lincoln small village called Eagle abiut 12 miles out and very rural and because i dont drive (Yet) i got very lonely when i first moved here , but its a good village with a good primary school, but my daughter will be moving to bigger school next year so no more country lane walks to school, that will be different!

    @Claire i’m fine and dandy thankyou, up to my eyes in icing sugar and shortbread snowmen and trees today for the nativity play tomorrow to sell to mums dads and kiddies! so if i dont see another piece of shortbread it wont be too soon!

    @ Claire…I appologise, you have humbled me, after reading your post about Travis and his friends I realise that I was unfair and quick to judge. I must admit that I didn’t see the whole programme ( missed about 10 mins) I had no idea that the men had suffered in such a way and had all passed polygraph tests.

    I think that the story seems sooo far fetched that I imagined that it just couldn’t be true…. I guess part of that not believing is from fear that these kind of things CAN indeed happen.

    I stand before you, guilty and chastised and I promise not to judge too quickly again…..is that enough grovelling !!! 🙂

    MY Mum has been researching our family tree for years, she had worked tirelessly on finding out about the family. Her maiden name was Grand which is quite an unusual name so that has made it slightly easier than Smith or Cooper or Jones !!!!!

    No real skeletons i’m afraid, just hard working Yeomen and Blacksmiths/ stablemen and grooms…..must be where i get my love of horses from…. my favourite three things…..History. Horses and Hockolate !!!

    I just love the Historical side of it all, imagine… my ancestors walking the same areas that i do, 600 years ago. There is an enormous headstone at a chuch in Reepham a few miles away where my 4x gt grandfather was the local blacksmith…. he must have been a very respected man as his headstone sits pride of place in the graveyard and he has a beautiful poem on it all about ” his bellows lie untended and the fire and tools unaided ” its lovely, I think that if my ancestors were just normal people who were well thought of then that is more important than fame or riches.

    The name Grand derives from the French word Grande, meaning large or it’s an old English word derived from an iron age word meaning stony shore !… guess which one i’d rather it was !!!!

    Talking of reincarnation, I do believe that I lived in the iron Age period, I am so facinated with it and when I was doing my degree, I seemed to know all about their lives before i learned it, even my professor was amazed at how much I seemed to know !!!! food for thought methinks !!

    Well having watched it last night i have to say i thought it was very well done! For starters i feel very privileged to hear them speak about it for the first time …… 2 of them broke down in tears when giving there account of what happened to them more than once 🙁

    Yes I have heard of Doddington hall, it’s an Elizabethan manor house isn’t it ?, i’ve seen pics of it but never been. I’ve been to Chatsworth a couple of times…wow …what a place, can you imagine owning such a gorgeous home ?.
    RE Anne Boleyn, we have her childhood home a couple of miles away, it’s called Blickling Hall and it’s gorgeous, Anne is supposed to appear in the library on the anniversary of her death !!!!..

    Here’s a cool fact… my family haven’t moved more than 26 miles from Norwich where I live, in the last 600 years, i can trace my family back to the early 1500’s…and guess what !!! my 9x gt grandfather was head stableman at Blickling when Anne was a child….so… he could have met her !!!! ( well maybe ) i like to think so.

    i also love the Tudor period, the girl i feel most sorry for was jane Grey, she was stitched up by her parents and her Husbands parents , they wanted her to be queen, which she was…for 9 days, then executed…so sad, all those wasted lives in the name of treason and religion.

    I haven’t been to Elvaston Castle but have heard of it…. my Dad’s side of the family come from derbyshire….it’s my second home, the most beautiful county. 🙂

    Mr Sceptic is from ooop north too, He was born in Cumbria and then moved to Doncaster… i’m a Norfolk Gal, born and bred !!!!

    I love history i’m partial to the tudor era , and i have such an empathy for Anne Boleyn (soo wronged) also i love the egyptians and the victorians and whenever i hear an air raid siren i get an adrenaline rush and my goosebumps grow more goosebumps , so as i’ve said to Claire before i would love to find out if i’m reincarnated from that era????? who knows i also love windmills and lighthouses too fascinating buildings.
    I have an old hall round the corner from me called Doddington Hall have you heard of it??? only last year did i get to see inside and i had a ball looking round , my birthplace in Derby i spent many a happy childhood at Elvaston Castle which is a great old hall and grounds , plus i’ve visited the mighty Chatsworth , and Belton Hall in Grantham great property but one of the biggie ones was Lanhydrock in Bodmin in Cornwall along there with Antony in Looe and Trerice outside of Newquay great buildings plus castles in Wales , Devon and such when i was little but i would simply love to go to Edinburgh Castle!! wow i’ll shut up now, you can tell its a subject i love eh???

    Did you know that in the early 18th century, it was deemed unhealthy to wash ?     Well Mr Nikki and son put up the outdoor xmas lights today it’s made us realise that we need to buy more as two sets dont work anymore , so they were filed under bin!!! but hey ho they have done a good job with what was left and me and my daughter made white chocolate brownies inside Ho Ho yum yum .

    Wouldn’t it be great if MH used that and the Ghost box or “Frank’s box”, i remember Dr C using one in one of the episodes, I seem to remember that it was some kind of museum i think ?

    Ghost box and the Ovulis intriguing para kit like both …………. think for me what helps give them some cred is the fact that sometimes nothing happens………….Which can be annoying with the Ghost box …..all that white noise ooo would drive me mad but do like it.     The Egyptian gods are something that I am covering, but I am currently cross-referencing all major religions and how they interact with each other to give the full idea of what happened from Roman times to now (Egyptian to Greek to Roman conversions are simple, I’m now factoring in Norse and other Pagan gods and hopefully Hindu gods soon to give the full picture.) I also get feelings from the gods as to their personality from what I’ve read. Thoth is one of my absolute favourites, along with his wife Maat. Thoth was the patron god of writers, doctors, astronomers, scientists, magicians, and he was the god of magic, wisdom and writing (esp hieroglyphics) he also mediated in the conflicts of the gods and was an advisor to Ra and frequently tried to calm him down when he became angry towards the gods or man. He even went behind his back when Ra forbade Nut to give birth to her children on any day of the year, she was in eternal labour and such unbearable pain. He literally played for time from the moon god Khonsu and won enough for five extra days to be added to the end of the year (the Egyptian calendar had 12 months of 30 days) and during these five days, Nut gave birth to her and Geb’s family (Nut and Geb were twins, so there’s issues with ‘Twincest’ for one thing, for another, Ra desired Nut for his own consort, so was jealous over her and Geb’s relationship) They were born on each of the five days, Osiris, Isis, Seth, Nephthys and Horus the Elder. These five days were special as the birthdays of these gods and were not considered a normal part of the year.

    Then in the future, Seth grew jealous of his brother Osiris’ power and the fact that his own wife Nephthys (his own sister) had used him to conceive her son Anubis (some say they were his real parents, but as always, it’s a bit ambiguous) so he fashioned a sarcophagus on his brothers measurements and claimed that whoever the coffin fitted could keep it (bit like a grizzly Cinderella’s slipper, although the Grimm version of it is quite grizzly in its own way) he sealed his brother inside and disposed of him in the Nile.     The contendings of Horus and Seth are *something else* in summary, Horus and Seth battled for the throne and in a series of contests, which Horus won, so afterwards a party was thrown for Horus, by Seth, in which Seth tried to dishonour Horus by raping him, only Horus caught the semen and he went to his mother, who cut his hand off and threw it in the marshes (Isis and the other four were a little bit bonkers, but then their parents were twins and their grandparents were siblings too, Shu and Tefnut, born from the spit and self pleasure of either Ra or Ptah, so what do you expect?) anyway, where was I? Oh yes, after Horus’ hand was cut off, Horus cut off his mother’s head in anger (as you do) but one of the gods (might have even been Thoth) restored their head and hand. The mother and son then plotted revenge, they sprinkled Horus’ semen on Seth’s favourite salad (I love Egyptian mythology! XD Where else in the universe does someone get their own back with spunk salad dressing? XD) There was then a court case and Seth in his cockiness asked the semen of the gods to be called upon, Seth’s spoke from the marshes and Horus’ from inside Seth. Seth was not pleased, everyone else found it hilariously funny. XD I can’t remember what happened next exactly, but Seth stormed off and Horus married Hathor and they became the rulers of Egypt, restoring Osiris’ line to their place on the throne. 😀
    Like I say, I love Egyptian mythology, that’s just one myth, they’ve got a lot more up their sleeves. XD

    Hopefully this will be the last of it, but it comes in waves, so I could get it back in about a week. I hope not, but it’s like a mucus-y boomerang, you think you’re shot of it, then it comes flying back into your chest. At least Doctor Artie was there with me, keeping me company. 🙂
    Aww… Suki sounds so sweet, she just wants to be near you, Artie makes her distain for us well known unless it’s dinner time or she’s cold, then she loves us. Aww… She did care enough to sleep on my legs for a bit, so maybe she isn’t such a little madam. 🙂

    Dead Haunted are working with both Ciaran and Chris Conway next year, I just hope it is a move to show solidarity with the renegade MH staff and that they’ll treat them right. I don’t think I have any real reason to be worried on that front, but it did cause me to sit up for a moment when they said he was “Most Haunted’s….” as it harked back to MH and Conwaygate, but I’m sure it was just a bit of paranoia and not a true reflection on them.
    By the way, Chris has opened a shop/spiritual centre in Dumfries, so if anyone’s going out that way anytime, then look out for it. 😀

    Trolls are horrible, I’ve had a few and they try to destroy confidence, the best thing is to block them and delete their messages. Forward them straight to the spam/trash folder and report them. The one thing you must *never* do is get mad at them, it gives them ammo. I think the reason they have a particular interest in Simon is because he does get so mad at them in the messages you spoke of, he plays right into their hands and makes it satisfying for them to see the effect they’re having and the control they have over his emotions.

    It’s a big problem as it causes a lot of unnecessary stress for everyone.
    It can also be used by people who are out to cause trouble, as they prey on the ambiguity of the written word to spread discord.     The vigil in MKC was not dark, they had dim lights on, for health and safety reasons mainly, as you can so easily trip over the uneven floors and there are parts of the ground that have big holes that someone could catch their feet on, so it’s not dark. Hopefully that will alleviate the fears of darkness. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of the dark, I like the view of the city with all its lights like urban stars, but not a big fan of the pitch blackness, you can’t see what’s in front of you and you feel like the biggest jerk in the world when you hear the screech that means you’ve just trodden on the cat’s tail. The next day is spent overcompensating for your clumsiness. What kitty wants kitty gets, whether that’s the milk from your cereal or the cheese from your sandwich.

    There’s a word that I want to get into the dictionary, Alcoholistic Therapy, it is the use of alcohol to treat symptoms of illness, especially sore throats. Spirits preferred, but wine works very well providing that its white or rose. It’s not recommended if you have a bad head, but if it’s just a sore throat, then it numbs the pain very effectively. 🙂 (Should probably put up a disclaimer to avoid any trouble: Units are a guideline, not your recommended daily allowance, please drink responsibly.)
